The original home to the left was added onto by 50% more with the Kitchen addition on the First Floor and the Bedroom addition on the Second Floor. While out of the house renting during construction, the owners had a large and wonderful screened porch where they spent a lot of time. And so a screened porch was added to the project with the challenge of an extant tree in the way. So I designed a screened bridge to get out beyond the tree and then I ran the screened porch on the back side of the tree. Some curved brackets make for an arched opening look.
This screened bridge to a screened porch is a design that I have repeated. It allows for more air and light into both the screened porch and the house as well as nice perspective from one to the other.
